I just rescued a Ball Python tonight and feel great. I understand how some people don't understand the care or get a snake bestowed upon them due to an emergency. This particular one was on craigslist and from the pictures i knew it was a very nice looking snake. Not only that but i also noticed the lack of a hide, 1 small heat lamp, a dry water bowl, and a gigantic screen lid. Filled with Aspen the 30 Gallon tank is a terrible tank for this animal.
So now the Guy/Girl resides in a Model #221 Vision cage with 2 RBI Hides and temps have been waiting for a new arrival for about 5 days. He/She immediately went into the hide and i have her as far as my other snakes as possible, which just happens to be a PITCH BLACK room. I feel i will let him chill out for about 2 weeks before doing anything as he has been moved 4 times in 2 weeks.
All i have to say is the feeling you get rescuing a snake is a great feeling. Although it looks like this one was either burned or chewed on by a rat towards the tail, but some good sheds will help that a lot. The colors as amazing for a normal and i think he/she will be a nice addition, especially for the lighter colors in future projects. My eyes might fool me, but it looks like there is some paradox on the lower half, i don't know.
If anyone else has some rescue stories, i'd love to hear them as this is my 2nd one. Most people just consider it a purchase, but to me, its a rescue!
