So, I watched as many videos as I could of BP's being popped on Youtube, both male and female. I read every article I could find on Google about doing it. I saw a breeder pop my baby corn snake in front of me so I could see.
Well, I gently, gently, gently tried to pop Nergal. I tried both of the ways I saw/read about, one involving gently pushing with your thumb toward the cloaca, the other "rolling" your thumb toward the cloaca. With both, nothing popped out, I don't think. I did see some pink parts--but I am not sure if that popped out or if it's just what's behind the cloaca when you gently pull it back.
No hemipenes popped out on nergal, I just saw a round pink thing kinda hanging out. It had two little holes on either side it looked like, but absolutely no hemipenes.
Could I have not been pushing hard enough? How hard do you have to push? I pushed, gently, but not with so much force that his insides squished out.
Does anyone have photos of what a female BP looks like when popped vs. a male? It didn't hurt him, I'm pretty sure. He didn't try to wriggle away or anything, just sat still.
Thanks for any help. :] and all help.
