The little booger bit me! Arrrgghh!
Went through 2 years with these guys... from 200grams to 1700grams... trying to overcome snake phobia... never been bit. Even getting really comfortable with them.
We hatch out a pretty bumblebee and he's the creep snake from hell! Actually all 3 of the guys are.
It's like they transformed overnight too. I've been cleaning the paper towels everyday since they hatched... is it 6 days now? No problem. Then this morning, I go pick up the hide and they're all in s-coils! All 3 of them. So, I get my son to move them out, so he put them on the inverted hide. I go clean everything out and they're still in s-coils, so I pick up the inverted hide intending to just slide the snakes out onto the paper towels and Jack - the bigger bumblebee stretches out his neck and tags me - bam! - right on the wrist. I got so startled I dropped all of them on the floor! It was a high drop too. Like a good 2 feet down!
I was screaming like a banshee, I can't help it. I felt something pinch but I look at my wrist and I couldn't see anything - no puncture, bruise, nothing. But, I'm pretty sure I got bit.
My 9-year-old son had to inspect all of them and put them all back. My snake-phobia was back in full force.
I think I just went down a full 10 notches in my son's cool-mom rating.
Is this normal? I mean, no not me screaming, I'm pretty sure I'm down 10 notches in your herp-keeper rating too. I mean, for these guys to go psycho like that.
No shed yet, so no meals yet either.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
