As a couple people know I just made the move from North Carolina to New Orleans, LA with thanks to the US Marines. We've actually been pretty excited about the move, it was supposed to happen when my husband got back from Iraq, but was delayed for a few months. No big deal.
Everything went very smoothly, TMO grabbed our stuff, we owed nothing to our apartment complex for clean up or damages. The drive was only 15 hours with only one wrong turn that was quickly corrected. We found our new apartment the first day we got down here, spent a decent night in a nearby hotel then switched to and extended stay hotel as our apartment is still occupied untill the 31st.
I really should have been leary of all this going in our favor and paid alittle more attention in the rush between hotels. With my mind spinning with all that needed to be done and getting everything out of the hotel room before check-out I managed to not tie the bag containing my fire female properly. Now I have to keep a small collection since we move every four years or so. Consisting of two females, and two males. This girl was by far my favorite, most promising, best eater, and most expensive.
I'm assuming she got loose in my truck on the way to the new hotel room, given that its been a week now without a sign of her I think its safe to say that barring a miracle, shes pretty much gone for good. She is chipped, which is were Im putting hopes on my miracle, but I've resigned myself to changing my breeding plans.
I dont usually share in my drama, but given how adept snakes are at going MIA, I thought I might give people a chance to vent with me and share their own losses. Maybe it will help others think twice when they would have rushed through something .
