Hi,
I'm talking to my friend, Julee, who I will be breeding ball pythons with in six years
She had a few good question.
1. If Black Pastel x Pastel is a Pewter, and a Spider x Pastel is a BumbleBee, could I breed a male Black Pastel and Spider to a female Pastel and get BumbleBees and Pewters?
I used the World of Ball Python's Genetic Wizard, and this is what came out:
(I selected male Spider and Black Pastel, but it turned it into a BlackBee).
MALE: Black Bee
FEMALE: Pastel
12.5%: Normal
12.5%: Pastel
12.5%: Black Pastel
12.5%: Black Pastel, Pastel
12.5%: Spider
12.5%: Spider, Pastel
12.5%: Black Pastel, Spider
12.5%: Black Pastel, Spider, Pastel
2. I know that some lizard's eggs, if incubated at a certain temperature, can hatch out specificly males or females. Is that true for ball pythons? And, if it is true, what temperature for males, and what temperature for females?
I was thinking that this isn't true, since most people that want females can luck out. I just wanted to know
Thanks,
~ Mac
