Hello,

I'm thinking about finally getting a true red-tail boa (BCC). I have been wanting one since a kid but just have never got around to it. I think the thing that has held me back is the fact that I don't want a 10' giant on my hands when it's full grown. If anyone has experience with the different localities; are there any specific ones that are your favorite to keep?

I know the Venezuelan and North Brazilian BCC stay fairly small for true red-tails, but the tail coloring does not stay quite as deep red. The Surinams color and pattern is amazing, but they can have regurgitation and weight loss issues, and get on the larger side. Guyana BCC have great coloration with purple hues, but I have heard that they have a bad rep for sometimes being temperamental and some do not do very well in captive conditions. I'm just trying to weigh the pros and cons to decide which may be right for me. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
