While feeding my 10 month old BP today (Live mouse) Everything seemed fine until he started to unwrap himself from the mouse and I realized the mouse’s teeth were stuck into the side of my BP’s head/upper neck. Before I could get in with my tongs to remove the mouse, my BP wiggled him off. He swallowed the mouse in about 2-3 minutes as usual. I’m very scared because when my BP (Stoli) unwrapped himself and got the mouse off he twitched a little bit, which I have never seen a snake do. Stoli twitched again (near the wound) and then swallowed. All seemed fine during swallowing. I noticed a little blood on the side of his head but nothing actually came out (there was no blood dripping). Again, the wound was very, very small, bit I am so worried and I’m not sure exactly what to do? I could tell immediately after swallowing that Stoli wanted to go back into his tank (I feed him in a separate enclosure) so I gently put him back in and he went off to hide as he normally does. He is an Albino, so when I say it didn’t look bad, it really didn’t because everything shows on the Albino. I don’t want to take him out of his tank because I usually wait at least 24 hours after feeding. What should I do? How worried should I be? Is there anything I can do? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks! -Jenny
