Had one of my male mojaves who is a picky eater take the rat pup and stuff it under the aspen so I couldn't see it anymore.. I never bug him because he is a picky eater, but I started smelling something awful, filled my whole condo with this smell.. Wait till they kill the rat start to eat it and the hide it under their paper and lay on top of it. You look in there and there a happy snake sitting on the heat spot..Leave to go on vacation the next day.. come back and the smell is undeniable.. then you start the hunt..
No, it was buried, and it was so awful! I never want to smell that again!
I don't use aspen anymore...
