When I used to have burms I would sandwich the flexxwatt between a sheet of linoleum and the plywood floor of the cage. I never had a problem, but that doesn't mean that you won't.

I mean I figured if you weren't aware the manufacturer knows problems could occur if you do these things and do them anyway...then you can't complain if the cage catches fire....and it does happen. I have a vision cage with the results of a nice flexwatt meltdown in my shed.
