We have a little leopard gecko at work. She was handled incorrectly by a former employee and her back leg was broken. It has since healed but it healed funky. She can walk and catch her food just fine, but because of this injury, along with her losing her tail (grew back) the store cannot sell her. She is up for adoption and they are hoping an employee will take her. I'm thinking about it but I want to get the animal room more organized before I have any spare space for another gecko. Also, my sister is considering taking her.
Now, the lady I was working with today says the gecko has been in the "new arrival room" for a few months. She thinks about 3 months. SHE says they have only been feeding her 2-3 small mealworms a day. This seemed a little off, though I've never had a younger leo before so I'm not sure how much they eat as babies. Her set up is fine, but I took the cup of mealworms in and fed her 5 mealworms and a small cricket before she no longer seemed interested. I'm thinking of taking a scale in tomorrow to get a weight on her.
I took a picture on my phone so as soon as I find my phoneI will post the picture of her. I guess I'm just looking for some advice on this gecko while she is in my care at work.
