Hello, I recently bought a ball python as I will be gifting it to my friend on May 8th as a birthday present. I will have to take care of it till then but I have no idea what to do! I have been reading around and noticed that it needs heat so I put a computer lamp directly over the tank to let it get some heat. I also added a bowl of water so that it can drink.

I need more tips on what I can do to the tank so that it can better overall for the ball python. Before I bought it for my friend, I was completely terrified of snakes. However, in the short time I have spent with it I have came to fall in love with it and now wanting on of my own!

Please guys, give me some tips on what I can do to keep the snake safe and feeling well.
