First of all, I'm using a 20G tank. I received my Herpstat just the other day. I have the therm probe taped directly to the UTH in the center via foil tape. Inside the tank, I have a digital temp probe that is presently taped directly to the glass via foil tape, centered over the UTH within the warm hide, and then covered by ~ 1/2" of coconut fiber substrate. I've set the Herpstat to 93 and the inside temp probe is reading 92.5. My concern is the tape on the inside. Although it's sealed very well to the glass and I can't imagine the BP ever getting caught up in it, I've read many of posts that suggests AGAINST using tape inside of the tank. Would you recommend that I remove the tape and if so, what would be the best way to secure the probe to the glass? I'd prefer to leave it as is but I don't want to jeopardize the safety of the snake. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance. You guys have helped me a ton already. - Bill
