Air injested while eating, or RI?
My spider just ate recently, and then took a nice big pooh, so I had to handle him while cleaning. When I picked him up, I could feel air shifting around from the underside of his belly... it felt kind of like a gurgle or something. Hard to explain, but I've never noticed it before. He hasn't been popping and since I felt it (earlier this morning), Ive been listening for sneezing, but I haven't heard anything yet. Could it be I've caught a RI early on, or is it normal for snakes to be... gassy after eating? I know that a snake wouldn't eat if it was feeling ill, but at the same time, my spider's the biggest pig I've ever come across and will eat unless he's a death's door.
I wouldn't be afraid about an RI, but about a week ago I had discovered that his uth mat had died, and I don't know how long it was out for. It couldn't have been more than a couple of days, because I try to check his temps regularly.
Just thought I'd play it safe and ask.
