I wanted to wait until next week to announce my newest additions, but due to a mishap during the trip home (completely my fault..) my lovely little female Nicaraguan boa slipped out of her transport container during the ride home from the havre de grace show.

Thanks to three dedicated friends we located her in the car, took parts of the car off, and got her out. She was wedged into the mechanics of the passenger seat of my SUV. She was removed, but she did sustain a small laceration sometime during this.

I only noticed tonight when i took her out to check on her. I barely spent any time looking her over after my friend found her that i thought i really should do that. I found what appears to be a small area on her lower right side, a few inches above the vent, of no scales--just flesh. I gave her a quick luke warm soak and covered the area with pain free neosporin.

She does not appear to be in any pain. Quite the contrary. She is acting 100% normal. No cruising, shes eaten already with no regurge, she'll bask for a bit then go cool off or use her hide or go under the paper towels.

I can post pics later tonight or tomorrow. I suppose im just looking for how long i should do the neosporin treatment. There is absolutely no sign of bleeding, redness, swelling or infection. Im sure it will scar up nicely, i'm just frustrated because this was entirely my fault and i will NEVER travel with snakes in containers i feel aren't 110% secure. learn from my mistake!

snake bags or TAPED deli cups only. :/
