Well, I figured out why Joxer has been acting so restless lately... he wanted some lovin'! I noticed he'd been super active the last week or two, which is very unusual for him - usually he spends most of his time hiding/sleeping. I also noticed Matilda (amel) had been more active than usual, so I figured it was worth a shot to introduce them. Within a few seconds of putting Matilda in Joxer's tub, he darted out like a racehorse and immediately started trying to mate. You all weren't kidding about cornsnake mating being crazy, especially when compared to ball pythons.

I left her in there for the night/day, and just removed her about an hour ago. Should I introduce again in a few days, and/or introduce Jox to the other girl (Coraline) this week? And how quickly should I expect to see gravid females? I've been pairing my BPs since early September with nothing yet, but I know corns act MUCH faster. Time to get an incubator, I guess?

Here are some videos & pics of their soiree, and I'll keep you updated on the progress... this is kind of an experimental breeding, since I'm testing all three for hets (they come from unknown genetics). Most likely I'll end up with a bunch of normals poss het for ghost/amel, which is still exciting since it's my first attempt at breeding. Wish me luck!

I almost felt like I was watching that scene from "The Accused" - yikes. :o (click on the image to play video)
