So tonight all four BPs decided to refuse their meal. But there were 2 interesting 'scenarios' while feeding.
First. Dropped a live ASF in to my butter who is the best freaking feeder on the planet! She's the only snake I have that aggressively hunts the food the second it's in the tub. I'll always drop the ASF in the front while she's in the back, and quickly slithers to the ASF and destroys it.
So like usual, I drop the ASF in. She comes flying up to it and wrecks it. Squeezes it for approximately 8 mins. She then decided to let it go, which it was still alive! After a minute or two, the ASF regains its breath and is now more scared than I've ever seen an animal. It was super sad to watch. Plus I have no death chamber to put it down. So I waited to see if my butter would finish the ASF off. Instead, she spent about 10 more minutes 'playing with it.' The ASF was trembling and my butter is sniffing every square inch of it. She was face to face and the ASF was closing its eyes because it looked so frightened. I felt so bad. I finally took it out and put it in its own tub.
Second. I dropped a live ASF in to my man eating mojave that has been off feeding since he started breeding. He was seriously interested in the ASF but just wasn't striking. The ASF had already pissed and crapped itself. And right before my mojave was looking to strike, the ASF picked up his turd in his mouth, walked over to the nose of the mojave, and dropped the turd in front of him. The mojo backed off about an inch and again, the ASF picked it up and dropped it closer. The mojo completely retreated at this point.
SUPER WEIRD feeding situations tonight. And I still feel so bad for that first ASF.
Anyone else have any weird feeding tales??
