the only "thermostat" i've seen in pet/co/smart is the reptitemp 500R. They dont sell the higher end, more professional (read:reliable) thermostats. :/ If they functioned like caring corporations, they'd actually carry everything you needed but thats a rant for another day lol.Originally Posted by thegoalie22
Its your money, i know the 40gal UTHs are lik..40-50 bucks at pet/cmart or at least they were last time i checked, i haven't gone into one in months because i don't buy anything except for the odd cat toy from the big box stores. I'd rather support the smaller, professional stores that stock good things for my animals (once again , totally a personal preference and not everyone cares about something like that or has the opportunity to choose something else).
I shop online for two reasons. 1; i make very little money at my job at the moment and want to save as much as possible and i've found stuff is WAY cheaper on the nets, even after shipping.
2. i want to support the people that better my hobbies. Reptile keeping big a BIG part of my life.
and like i said, this is just me and whats worked for my system. If this dosen't sound good to you, pioneer something new! :p
