I am new to this site, this in fact being my first post. I have had my bp(normal) for about 8 months. I have made a mistake that I am not proud of. My bp sheds about once every 5 weeks, and I have a very bad habit of actually helping him shed by pulling off the shed. I know this is a very bad habit and I have made a promise to myself to stop. I just hate not handling him while he is shedding. I do always wait till the skin is starting to split, already a little split, or at the very earliest 24 hours after the blue eye phase is completely gone. A few months ago, because of this, he got a minor case of scale rot, which cleared up. He has after his last shed, 1 little(maybe a cm long) reddish orange very thin abrasion I guess you could call it on 1 scale on his belly. Because of an accidental cracking of his cage, he got the about 8 inches or so of him stuck on some tape that was holding it together while I find a new tank, which I got today. The tape that he got stuck on pulled the outer part of some scales near his head. The part that got pulled off sorta looked like shed, but I know it wasn't. On his underside of his head, 2 scales have turned pinkish-red because of this. I am treating with Neosporin everyday. On parts of his back, mainly like on his spine, some of his scales have turned either creme colored(thats wat the scales that were stuck on the tape turned to, but these are not from that) or have a black tip to them.
He is eating regularly(1 small rat every 7-10 days) and he has actually never refused food.
I promise to not assist him with his shed anymore. Will he be ok? He will shed again probably in about a month. Thoughts?
