I went to the Raleigh show this weekend to pick up some equipment from RBI and if I was lucky, a Nicaraguan boa. It was nice meeting and talking with alot of the local breeders. I didn't even realize there were so many in this area. One of them (Fat Boy) is just a couple mile from where I work. This could be detrimental to my bank account... As I was getting my USARK membership (yay) I mentioned to the guy that I was looking for a Nic Boa and he said that he just happened to have one. While I was checking him out the guy said he had another (dwarf) boa species, The Peruvian long tail. He pulled out this little girl, I fell in love, and she was sold. I thought she was a baby but she is 2 years old. They are slow growers. After checking out all the BP's I came across a '07 male Pastel at Ben Siegels table. He looked pretty miserable in the tub so I figured I'd get him out and look him over. After a few minutes he crawled up around my neck and chilled out. I figured he picked me, he was sold... After I got him in his tub he immediately drank the whole bowl of water. I refilled it and he drank about half of that before going into his hide. This morning the bowl was empty so I refilled it again and this afternoon it is half empty again. Both snakes were pretty mellow in their holding tubs but as soon as I got them out to weigh them and put them in their permanent enclosures they wouldn't hold still. The boa wouldn't even stay in the scale bowl long enough to get her weight. Hopefully I can get some better pics when they acclimatize. Anyway here they are...
First up is Attila, '07 Pastel male. Even in his holding tub he seems to like wearing his hide/hat...

Next up is Evita, the '07 Peruvian Long-tail Boa...
