Well I finally made it to my first Reptile Show and picked up a baby Albino Burmese. I have wanted one ever since highschool where I took care of 2 Burms at our highschool all 4 yrs. I had 6 Ball Pythons and a Red Tail Boa which I had sold some 9-10 months ago. I missed my snakes and said if I was getting anymore it would be a Burm or a GTP. I have worked with snakes for about 8 years now and worked with burms for nearly 4 years and I am financially able to afford the Burmese. I got a little boy who is wonderfully tame and dont hiss. His mom sold me on him who was about 13ft and just a gentle giant. You could touch anywhere on face and she wouldn't or flinch and her babys are the same. What I want to do is build a custom cage for when he gets older instead of buy one so I can build it to what I want. I have used the search button and looked at some nice cages but they just show pics. I was wondering if there was a website or a book with plans on building cages. I have 4 years of wood working through school so I can work with wood just fine. Im just not sure on what to use when building the cages and what works good with flex watt and so on. I have seen some people use wood but the chance of it not water proofing good and getting moldy and what not. Melamine seems to be heavy and plastic ya I dont have anything to cut or work with plastic and never have worked with plastic to be honest. Any info and any direction would be great for I have never built a custom enclosure. Thanks
