Small Story before pics I am VERY Excited about my new pet. Sorry if to long
Well a few months ago I made a post about learning about this wonderful snakes before I purchased one. Since that time I have been doing ALOT of research. This forum has been invaluable. Even tho I have just been lurking I cant say thanks enough for the information.
So today went and purchased my first Ball. From the title he is 100% het ghost. I am not to worried about his genetics as much as my wife and I both loves his pattern and colors. This is intended to be a pet. If he becomes a breeder then I will know his genetics as well. It was a great experience and he was purchased at a reptile show in Columbus Ohio from a breeder who was recommended to me by a breeder that I buy my leopard geckos from.
When I purchased he gave me a card with his birth date. All his feeding dates. And his weight as certain intervals. He had informed me that he had only ate live mice so far and had refused F/T.
He hatched on July 4th, 2009.
I had noticed that in past two weeks he had not fed so I figured I would try him on a F/T after I had let him settle in for about 6 hours. (I know I am suppose to wait but I was excited.)
I put him in a seperate feeding space and let him get used to that space while I left the thawed mouse in a small container outside of his feeding space. I did that for about 30-45 minutes while feeding my bearded dragon. \
I had watched a few feeding videos and noticed that these snakes are very fast and decided that a nice long pair of tongs was a good idea. I heated the thawed mouse up slightly with a hair dryer and dangled it in front of him with no luck. I then let it sit for a few minutes and let him investigate. I figured he might not be interested yet. So i picked the mouse up again and jiggled him a few times he struck and wrapped up very quickly. Which in turn made me giggle like a school girl. (I am 6'2 about 285lbs)
Sorry again for the long story.
Without further rambling. Here are a few pics
Any help on names would be much appreciated.
