Does your family have any particular meals/recipes that are passed on one generation to the next that tend to draw 'odd' reactions from those unfamiliar with the particular meal?

For example, Oxtail stew is a tradition in my family.

This has always been one of my favorite dishes. Whenever the topic of 'favorite dishes' come up with friends, I usually share my love for Oxtails.

"You eat Oxtails?" Is the usual response.

I am somewhat surprised that it comes off as being such an uncommon meal. There are various recipes online for it, and the meat isn't too hard to find at your local market.

Hmmmmmmm...my grandma, and mom use homemade sauce and noodles for their recipe....YUM!

So please, share any 'unusual' dishes that may be common within your family, but foreign to others. Who knows, maybe there are some Oxtail fans here.
