Scariest... moment... ever!
I had the scariest moment last night, and just had to share it with you all. Toby was hanging out on my lap/neck in the living room, when my roommate wanted to hold him... I passed the snake over, and forgot about them for a while. Eventually he got up to go to sleep, which is when I realized Toby was no longer on his lap. No biggie, he wanders around that room often, and always ends up in the same spot - behind the armchair, usually under a box or blanket. So I kneel over the armchair, and start picking up the usual hiding spots. I leaned back for a second, and when I lifted my hand it had - what I thought was - BLOOD all over it!
My first thought is OMG, he accidentally sat on Toby and killed him!! I began to panic, in tears as I ripped apart the chair and cushions... realizing the cushions aren't even removable, I turned the chair upside-down and reached inside. No snake. Then I looked at my hand again, and thought "is this actually blood??" I checked the spot where I found the puddle, and discover that it's a squished raspberry. My heart immediately slowed down, and a minute later I found Toby hiding in the usual spot. I kissed the heck out of him, and put him right back in the tub. That'll teach me to be more vigilant, huh?? And I didn't realize how much I love that little fella, until I thought he might be dead.
