Length-Weight Relationship
The 'Are we feeding too much?' thread was filled with some interesting points. In the thread, I mentioned that for some fields (say fisheries science), people develop length:weight relationships for certain species. For instance, a 30" striped bass should weigh 8-10 lbs. There are also length-at-age, and weight-at-age relationships. There was some interest, so I thought I'd give it a try.
If you're interested, please provide the length, weight, and age of your ball pythons. For the sake of making it easier on me, providing it all together (i.e. don't make me read a couple of paragraphs) would be nice. With enough snakes, we should be able to figure something out. Like I said, this is just an idea I had and a couple of people expressed some interest. If it doesn't work out (e.g. not enough snakes) don't sweat it. My guess is that we're gonna have tons of variation in weight for a given length or age, and crazy wide confidence intervals, but I dunno.
I'll start it off:
Makena: 43" - 1100 g - 2 yrs
