Most versatile & economical rack?
Well... I finally have the money to buy a rack system, but still can't figure out which one to get! The problem is that my collection is small but varied, in terms of the snake's sizes. Right now I have 2 juvenile BPs in 32qt tubs, an adult in a 41qt, and a hatchling that will be arriving soon (and going into a 15qt). I'll probably add another hatchling or juvenile, and maybe another type of snake (Hognose or Boa?) in the near future. Also getting 2 leopard geckos next week, but they'll be living in Toby's old wooden/glass enclosure.
So far I can only find racks that house adult/juvenile or juvenile/hatchling tubs, but none that can accommodate all three. We talked about this recently on another thread, and I remember somebody saying it has to do with heating requirements. Can anyone elaborate on this for me? I could get separate racks, but that just seems a bit excessive for 4 snakes... I also have someone who MIGHT build me a custom rack, if we can figure out the plans for a 3-sized system.
I'd really appreciate input on which rack/s will best suit my collection, or whether a custom-built would be possible. I am willing to consider 2 small units, as long as the total cost isn't too ridiculous - hoping to keep it under $350 whether homemade or purchased. Here are a few I'm considering...
