When I first got my little Colombian, she was such a easy snake to hold. She would just wrap around your hand and chill. Every now and then she'd feel like exploring and would move around on you but she was never hard to handle. For a while she was a problem feeder. I think with the move, she was just stressed out. Now she eats like a champ. Still, she's very very small for her age. I got her last year around this time and she's only 163g! So in a year, she's only gained a little under 100g. When I first got her she was just under 100g. She was so tiny. She's finally starting to put some weight on and she looks like she's hitting a growth spurt in length. I'm sooooo happy she's finally starting to grow.

During the time she wasn't eating regularly, I didn't handle her much. Now she is not a fun snake to hold. When you open her cage, she is immediately on the defense and in striking pose. Once you get her out, she flails around, grips your hand way too tight and does everything in her power to get away from you.

Now, since she is a female, she will get way larger than an adult ball python and a heck of a lot stronger. I don't want her to be like this when she gets that big, so I need to begin handling her more often to get her used to handling again.

What would be the best way to get rid of cage aggression? I have this with one other ball python (my pin) who will hiss and try and strike every chance she gets. I just want to be able to hold them again. Any advice?
