Gideon is quite possibly my favorite ball python. We purchased him as a yellowbelly/possible fire. He'd been bought and sold a couple of times from and to reputable breeders, and by the time he was sold to me, they knew he was a yellowbelly but didn't have records / didn't remember if he came from a fire clutch or not. Either way, doesn't matter to me because he's absolutely gorgeous! It's like every time you look at him, his color changes.

Here he is in the shade today:

And here he is in the sun!

So a few weeks ago we picked up a future girlfriend for him. We're calling her Princess Lady (which is a joke from the Office, totally makes me giggle every time), and I *think* I might be addicted to yellowbellies.

We also decided to take a chance on a pretty little female. She's from a breeder we really like and respect who was pretty up front about her. She came out of a fireXfire clutch that had black-eyed leucies, obvious fires, normals, and this one. She didn't look like the fires, but she didn't look like the normals. He was holding her back, but needed to make room, and we got her for just a little more than a normal, so we're pretty happy with her. We're calling her Wadjet.

Loooove her eye:

I'm pretty excited for a few years down the road! Gideon will hopefully breed with a normal girl this year, and maybe a pastel, so it'll be fun to see what he produces!
