    Re: Fire vs YB question

    2 and 5 are Fires and 4 is a Y.B. -- The rest look normal in my opinion. The head-spot is the LAST marker I look at when identifying Fires -- least reliable.

    The belly is the first thing I look at -- even before color. Belly should clear with solid lines/streaks (NOT SPECKLED as on a Y.B.) running along major portions of the back 2/3 of the body.

    Color is SO variable depending on line, color of Fire in breeding, and other animal in breeding. I consider the color of course, but the BELLY is the ticket for Fire I.D. Good luck!!
