I need to breed my own feeders. My feeding bill is $100 a month and breeding them would be so much cheaper. I go through 12 small rats and 32 adult mice per month, but some of those on mice will be going up to rats. I will be posting about rats too, but I will need to be breeding mice as well.
Every time I try and breed mice, nothing happens. It should be simple. Food, Water, Bedding, Stimulation (toilet paper rolls, digging material, chew blocks, etc) and putting male and female together should yield babies, yes? No! I've tried twice and both times, the groups were together for well over 1.5-2 months and no babies! Not even a sign they were breeding or pregnant. Temperatures in the room can get over 80 on some days and we will be rearranging the room so that the air flow is better (there is a table standing over the vent)
Is it just the temperature?
