And then there was one. I just checked on the babies and the one on the right, the deformed one has died. The umbilicus was wrapped around its middle and it was completely unresponsive to touch. I gently reached in and took its head in my fingers and took a good look at the deformed head. It is extremely deformed and I'm not surprised the baby did not make it.
The other baby, however, is doing great! I think he/she is very very close to hatching. I see no deformities so far and the head looks great!
So I was thinking of pulling the dead baby out and snapping a few pictures.I've taken pictures, documenting the entire breeding, laying, and incubation period, and I've taken pictures of the other fetuses that have died, so I might as well take pictures of this little one. We will bury him/her outside tomorrow.
I'll also take pictures of the healthy baby for comparison.
