Must vent... Today is the single best day of my life since I've been in the hobby...

Cu's story, in short: When I got Cu, almost two years ago, she was on live small rats. She only ate around half of the times I offered, and when she did, she took a very long time to strike and a very long time to eat it. After her four-month winter fast, she took a live mouse, and since has refused rats. As I continued to feed her two live mice a week, her feeding response became more and more aggressive. I have probably wasted well over fifty frozen rodents during the time she's been with me, to no avail.

A few hours ago, I went to the freezer to thaw a mouse for Sangre, my blood. (Killer feeding response, btw. He's the best!) I had the strangest urge to thaw one for Cu. So I did.

So, after it had been thawed and warmed on the heat pad, I took the f/t mouse with the tongs and made noises around her tub. Sure enough, her head popped out of her hide. Being the klutz I am, I dropped the mouse. And Cu started coming out of the tub after me. She's always been so skittish, I never dreamed I'd ever have any trouble with a too-aggressive feeding response! (I'm not complaining, though! I'm fine with a couple good tags, and I'm fed up with her being fussy.) So, I nudged her head away with the tongs. Before she started going after the tongs, I managed to pick up the mouse.

    Then...

    BANG!!

...making today is the best day of my herping life!!!! The only thing that kept me from jumping and screaming with delight was the fact that she might not finish eating it, which would suck.

    So.

I am never going to buy a live rodent ever again!!!

Okay, maybe not. But for the time being, both of my snakes are eating f/t!!!!!

Thanks for looking. I HAD to share, I am sooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!

Oh. And in celebration, here are a few pics of the girl I love so much.
