    Shenandoah Herpin'

The lady Lisa and I took a little hike in the Shenandoah mountains earlier today. Didn't find any snakes (well, a few shed skins) but we didn't go empty handed!

First herp I found was a little female broadhead skink. She was quick but I managed to pin her in the leaflitter to get a picture:

We also encountered a few little eastern fence lizards:

    First catch, a small male:

Tried to get a shot of his bright turquoise belly but it didnt turn out too well.

    Second, a possibly gravid female:

Also caught a few more little males. They are quick and as soon as you startle them they are gone up a tree!

To end the day we went fishing with little luck... although Lisa caught a little panfish:

Thanks for looking, and good luck in your own adventures!
