I went to the vet on Monday and my spider ball python does has some problems. A fecal test was sent to the vet's lab and is having a second look now from another lab. He told me that there was hookworm and some form of nematodes that could possibly be part of cryptosporidium, which he said i'd be better off putting the snake in a new home because it's hard to get rid of and can spread to all my other snakes infecting them as well. He was de-wormed so the hookworm is most likely gone now, but the other stuff probably is still there. He said if it's not cryptosporidium, i might be ok. So far the vet bills have aded up to $117, but he's getting me some meds that will most likely make him better over time. I don't even know what that's going to cost =[ I already previously called the breeder and they told me there's no way that the snake could have parasites. Well they're wrong. I hope to talk to the breeder again and possibly exchange this snake for a healthy one or to possibly be helped out with my bills from the vet. Do you guys think the breeder should help me out? I just wish i was sold a healthy snake. Oh and btw the breeder is known by a lot of people, so i'm guessing other snakes that were sold by them were sick as well.
