Another newb
Greetings, all!
I'm new here, but not to reptiles. I have kept numerous species, with most of my experience with the larger herps; varanids, teiids, iguanids, pythons, anacondas and alligators.
I had a fairly large collection a number of years ago that I regretfully relinquished in an attempt to salvage my marriage, which ended anyway (a lesson for everyone - your herps won't stab you in the back). However I have a new girlfriend now who loves them almost as much as I do, and my collection is growing again.
I'll give you a brief rundown on my opinions of herpkeeping:
I hate tubs. They make good water containers, though.
I hate inbreeding. Will never do it.
I hate legislation. Terrible by-laws where I live; glad I'm exempt.
Don't believe in hybridization.
Keep what you like. Not what can make you money.
I do love reptiles and have for almost forty years.
There is not a reptile that cannot be tamed, if acquired as a baby.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
Chris
