Hey guys and gals! I just recently picked up my first Ball Python a few weeks ago and have quickly become fascinated with the Ball Python world!

My current Ball Python was purchased as a personal pet. It is a 'normal' BP, approximately 3-4 months old. I haven't had it probed/popped, but I will soon. So far, I have fed it 3 live meals and it is currently going through it's first shed since I've owned it. It mainly stays in it's hide(cave) during the day, but loves to come out and explore at night and has been very accepting to handling. Currently, I have it in a 24Lx12Hx10W with a heating pad under his hide and a overhead light above his water dish. For his substrate I am using mulch. I replace about 25% of it every day with fresh substrate and fully clean the cage once a week. I have seen it relaxing and exploring all over the enclosure, so I feel it's gotten comfortable with it's new home. I'm going out soon to get him some plants and a bigger water dish. I've also been reading in the husbandry category and have decided to make some modifications to the tank, but so far I feel like I've got the hang of it!

I have been reading over the past few weeks and am becoming very interested in breeding. I'm hoping to start a small rack in the future and purchase a couple of adults to get started, but WHEW there is so much to learn.
