    Any heating item can malfunction, even if it's made specifically for reptile use. The two options you're probably talking about, heat cable or flexwatt, are both in use in many keepers' homes out there with no problem. As long as you use a good thermostat and have the probe properly placed you should have no issues.

    I have an AP rack system with cable and it does great for me.
