My Day 3.02.09
So Yesterday My company laid-off 70 more people after laying off 95 in Oct. I was one of those people. I am actually taking it alot better than I thought I would. Maybe it was the fact that I was getting tired of the job anyways(you know we all need a break at sometime) or maybe it was the fact my boss kinda teared up. See I was a good employee with not a mark on my record other than breaking my leg last August that resulted in being off full duty for 6 months. He made it very clear that I was going to be the first person he called when the job market picked up. So that made it seem a little better. Now you have to ask if I have anymore prospects in a new job? No, but I'm good at change and will adapt to a new job fairly well. Well I'm going to post this and quit babbling. Now my question is how would you take it in you current situation?

Very sorry to hear that you lost your job, and good luck with finding a new one. Luckily my company has not had to lay off anyone yet, but who knows what the future will bring. Hopefully the economy will pick up soon.

Thanks Eddie, it was a sort of lottery see I had 6 years in and the company have people that have been there a shorter time that didn't get laid-off. But like I said a change may be good for me at this juncture in life

I work in a manufacturing company. This is something I have thought about a lot. I hoenstly think that it would suck, but what am I going to do to fix it? I just need to roll with the punches and trust that I will get through it.
I always do.
I wish you luck in the changes ahead.

so sorry Tim. Times are tough and going to get a bit tougher I fear. You have a great attitude about it, I hope something comes your way fast. You will be eligible for unemployment, right?
If my company laid off, it would hurt us terribly (read devastate). We have had lots of short hour weeks, but it's been enough. We have a long term contract for work, and from what the 'company' tells us, there is more than enough work for years. I'm crossing my fingers.
Best of luck!!

Tim,
I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your job...
Keep your head up, tighten up a bit and weather the storm. It'll all work out in the end.
