Re: Can two males lock up?

I had a mis-sexed ball python and when another male was place in the enlcosure all they did was knock around the cage...?? I mean some hardcore knocking.... LOL The whole tub was moving around.... I immediately removed the male and sexed the other and it was a male..... I had never sexed the snake but it was sold to me as a female..... I didn't know they would lock like that...

I am a lesbian and i am glad to see that you are all progressive enough to look at gay snake porn.

i have two males and kept them together for a very short while when i first got the second one and they never locked. i guess they were both bottoms.

Re: Can two males lock up?

Lots of folks on this site emphasize that snakes should not be kept together in the same enclosure but never give a good reason. I'd say this is a good reason.

Maybe it should be included in the care sheet.

The ones I posted the pic of, the one was mis-sexed, so I put them together and they locked twice... third time they battled and behaved like males combatting.

I pulled them and probed the supposed female to find out they were both males.

I pulled the male het (the one I REALLY wanted to breed with one of my females) and I was not able to get him to breed for me at all last year. He did breed this year, but it was a HUGE production for him.

Basically my negligience last year scared him off breeding.

But it is a similar risk taken when people battle males, they may scare one off of breeding.

Re: Can two males lock up?

I have had two males lock up...for hours. I was under the impression one was a female, but the next time I attempted to breed them, they went into combat mode. I probed & they are indeed two males.
