    I already lost one!!!

My Daughter loves the little furry guys and she opened the door to give them a treat and the little bugger ran away ! If I don't find it tonight I'll have to feed the rest off as it was the male that dissapeared. I can wait to see if they are pregnant but I don't really want to keep a set if they won't be breeders. My daughter has never allowed any animals out on purpose and is really good with the normal rats these guys are super demon rats

Be VERY glad what got out was the male and not a preggo female. Either set out mouse traps or watch carefully to see if you can catch it (if you want it back alive). Personally I use a large plastic margarine container and lid method (patent pending LOL). Smack the container over the ASF escapee and slide the top under carefully. Flip over, snap down the lid and you have one slightly ticked off but safely caught ASF inside.

We don't call em "devil dogs" for nothin! LOL

[QUOTE=Clear;966145]I setup a ramp to a high tub that they couldnt jump out. I setup a sea saw trap ontop so that they would fall inside. A little food to make them go up the ramp (dont make the ramp to steep) and I cought both of mine the same night. If you need pictures I will get some for you.

Hopefully the cats get it before it chews wires. Our pet rat got out a few months ago and chewed a few computer wires

this is why I don't let the niece or nephew feed the rodents alone.. they ask first and then I will watch them . they under stand thatthey can bite and even jump out of the cage. I found that if all water and food up outside a few pieces they will be in there eating withing a 2 day period.

my one escape that lasted long than the time it took me to bend over and grab them. was on the table the next evening eating right out of the bowl when i came to check on the other. I just dumped the rodent back in and went about my normal thing. now the rats are more of a pain since they are large and the cats( mom pains ) think hte rats are paly toys. we find the ratt most the timw as the cat screaming blooody murder cause it chomped ont othe cat for smacking it like a toy ball.

    Re: I already lost one!!!

They are like gerbals on stariods. They are nothing like rats at all more like over grown nippy mice with speed and agility. my husband spent quite a bit of time tring to get the bugger. I was so ready to feed off the females as I figured the cat would get him. Sure my kids hamster which had a feaking name can get eaten and half left on my bed ( and my husband slept on it as they gave it to him at night!) as a gift but an ASF is not worthy of thier attention as these are actually demons not food.
