    Mike
I only have that top on for now because my house/area is rough on humidity. Ever since I put that top on my humidity stays perfect between 55-65%. It is actually very heavy, and I will secure it incase of any problems. I have a normal top with 2/3 of it wrapped in tinfoil and duct tape but it just wasn't cutting it. Once it starts to get warmer in a month or so I should be fine with that. Thank you for the advice, I don't wanna lose my BP

eBay is also a good place to check.

I got my Raytek MT4 (excellent temp gun) for 35 + shipping, even though MSRP is like 80.

Looking good, we love our temp gun. I think pro-products.com sells a small 20 dollar one. Could be wrong?

Do you have the UTH on a thermostat? Also definitely get that lid secured. I also have the screen top with the tape/foil that you're talking about and since I've done it I have had no issues with humidity. I am also using moss though. Mist once a day and humidity stays in the mid 60s.

You also would want 2 identical hides so the snake doesn't pick a favorite and then overheat or cool off too much. If that is a 5.5 gal tank it is not giving you much room to work with... A 10 gallon will give you enough room for 2 small hides and a 20L is what you'd get to set you up for the life of the snake. I had my young BP in a 10 gal but I just put together a 20L tank for my ball and got a TON of input from everyone on the forum so I just went through what you are going through now lol.

its a 10 gallon ha, guess it's hard to tell in the picture? But yeah like I said once it starts to warm up a bit and gain in humidity in about a month I think the screen top will be fine

Then get the reptile basics hides, put one one each end and put a UTH on some sort of controller in there if you don't have one already.
