Snow corn..?

I got a job at a pet store and we just got this cool Snow corn in. I really am interested in getting him because he is very interesting looking and has a very nice temperament. While I am still learning I think I could manage to handle taking care of him. I have read up a lot of information on corn snakes and it seemed to be the consensus that corn snakes are a great first snake. I've thought a lot about ball pythons as well but I've just been told they weren't good as a first time snake.

I still have a lot to think about but I think I am nearly certain I will be getting one soonish. Soon with an ish I say because I have to wait until pay day and make sure I get all the supplies before bringing him or any other snake home.

corns and ball pythons make great first snakes. There is absolutely no reason why anyone with an internet connection, half a brain, and common sense can't learn the basics for either species in a day or two.

Corns are imo the easiest pet in the world to take care, even easier than hamsters or fish.. I'd recommend a corn snake as not just a first snake, but a first pet to anyone over the age of 7.

Corn snakes make a great first time snake for anyone.I commened you for wanting to learn everything before you buy any snake .In my opinion it shows you would be a perfect responsible reptile owner.Keep us posted and let us know if and when you buy him/her.If you have any questions ask away

Snow corns are almost my favorite corn. (reverse okatee sp?) To me corns are much more fun than a ball. They will actually move (Can't wait for this argument) Most corns eat like a champ, and are usually a little more reasonably priced in the pet store chain.

Thanks. I realize that I've only had cats and dogs and snakes are a little bit more work-as far as ensuring things like proper heat sources, tank size, etc. I've never had to think about that with a dog or cat. LOL. The snow corn is very active at the store. I had my manager take him out and he was active and curious. When I held the ball python he was a little more calm and laid back.

I will definitely be careful to make sure the enclosure is properly sealed. I don't want any loose snakes in the home. LOL.

I appreciate all the information on the site. It's great for people interested in snakes to get more information before the purchase-which I am definitely taking advantage of!

I like to be fully prepared when going into snake ownership. It's completely new to me. I've talked to a lot of people at the store and they're always like "Snakes aren't for me". LOL. I totally thought that too until I met the huge Burmese Python. That oughta shake the fear right out of me! haha.

Anyways, pictures and info will be posted when I get one. If this snow corn goes before I can get him I will wait for another one.
