Can a bad shed cause a snake to "whistle"?

One of my Bp's had a bad shed around the head area. I had to help take the eye cap off. However, I noticed that since this shed, he soemtimes has this "whistle" sound when he exhales. I read about RI but I would expect more symptoms.

Should I err on the side of caution and have a vet look at him?

Stuck shed around the nose can cause a whistle. Look close and see if there is any shed around the nostril. If not then a vet visit is in order.
