Unhappy Off to a new home...

This is a farewell to a wonderful snake.

Due to the addition of a BTS and a (soon to come) Veiled Chameleon, my partner told me to choose two snakes to rehome. One wasn't an issue, since I had already decided to trade her - my Anery corn female, Athena. She is now with a good breeder in a nice home.

The other had to be a BP, though, and the only one who didn't really fit into plans was my very first BP - Nagini. So, sadly, I had to give her up. Today, I found her a nice new home with a local breeder friend of mine...so I know she'll be well cared for. That doesn't stop my eyes tearing up every time I think of how much I'll miss her (like now)...

So, farewell to my dear Nagini. She was a sweet girl who will always be remembered.

Re: Off to a new home...

I would have to my partner to go #$%@ him/herself.

    But that's just me.

I'm sorry for your loss but atleast they're both in good homes and you will have more time for your new pets. It's sometimes kinda hard to spread the love too thin. Lucky for me I only work like 32 hours/week and have no life anymore, so I spend rediculous amounts of time with the snakeys.

I too am hoping to get a cham in the near-ish future, but probably not a veiled.

Good luck with the new additions!

Argentra, I know you and I have had a disagreement or two in the past, but I really am sorry you gave up your BP. I know that must be a big loss.

For what it's worth, I'd have kicked the partner out.

Re: Off to a new home...

    Thanks, everyone.

My partner has his reasons, and I fully understand them. We live in a nice but rather small 2 bdrm apartment and so have limited space for critters. Until such time as we have a bigger place, the number of animals I have must be restricted to fit in this apartment and not take up more room than our own things.

With the addition of the BTS, who will live in a rather large enclosure once he's grown, and the chameleon who's cage takes up half the dining room...well that kind of made it necessary to cut down on the snakes so all (now 12) of them could be in the bedroom. With the subtraction of Athena and Nagini I now have the space in there for just that.
There is also the fact that the two lizards are rather time demanding and I wouldn't have been able to take as good care of all 14 snakes plus them.

Thanks for the support and comfort... it really means a lot to me. I know this had to be done, but it doesn't mean I won't miss her.

Re: Off to a new home...

Your partner made you get rid of your very first BP? Screw that! If they were your partner, they would never even suggest such a thing.

My first BP is a plain old normal girl. I would give away any one of my morphs before getting rid of her.

Re: Off to a new home...

I'm sure you've found Nagini a wonderful home.

Folks, let's please remember that this poster is a grown woman and made her decisions, both in which particular snake to rehome and also the person she shares her life with. Rude comments about her partner aren't really very helpful are they?
