    awww rats

Well my GF and i just got 4 dumbo rats(as pets) and when she went to pick up ziva, she was all agitated. Then i went to take the temp of the floor of her tank and just my luck got bit. Will Ziva learn to live with the smell or will she always be aggressive? we don't really have anywhere else to move the rats. Both the rats and the snakes are in my room. Our ball python was curious but didn't seem to agitated.

Also because we both have been very busy with school and the new rats we haven't had all that much time to handle Ziva.

So spark notes..Will Ziva learn to live with the smell of the rats and not bite me or my GF?

    Thanks for the help guys

Haha, I'm really not sure what to tell you. I'm guessing they will eventually become accustomed to the smell of the rats, but keeping them both in the same room will probably not do any good to help that process. I've never tried keeping rats though. My best advice would be to thoroughly wash your hands before handling your snake and to keep a box of band-aids next to your cage.

It's best to keep them in a seperate room if possible cause they smell the rats and can associate that with a feeding response. Make sure you wash your handle very very thoroughly before handling your snake and that's your best bet in your situation. (IMO)
Success is just one decision, one commitment and a whole lot of hard work away…
