Introducing blackthroats to each other
I'm intro-ing the two blackthroats to each other today in the outdoor pen today. It's a lovely hot sunny day, and so far it's going swimmingly.
To recap, the pen is 8x8x6ft, and I recently repaired the bottom wire with new sturdy wire. The lizards are a huge female blackthroat(Moggie) that I acquired quite some time ago, and a rescue that I got recently(Wilson) that is somewhat stunted, being much smaller, even though he's older than Moggie.
I now know for certain that it is a male and a female, as Wilson previously everted hemipenes, and Moggie today flashed her much smaller organ out.
So far, they are getting along well, Moggie is not agressive in the least, and Wilson seems facinated with his new girlfriend(I lak big butts), and is following her around some, and exihibiting breeding behavior!
She runs away each time so far, but we'll have to wait and see how it all settles out.

I hope all goes well with the pairing. They should be fine together as long as there is no trouble. Good Luck!
Do you have a big nesting spot in the cage?

No nesting spot yet, I have to bring in some more mulch, since the dirt idea has fallen flat.
Here's some new updated pics though! It's sunny out, and both were basking, all flat out.
