Bass Eats Rat - Viewer discretion advised

    http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=37237

And people think we're bad for feeding our snakes rodents that die in like 10 seconds. I'm sure this video had some fallout from angry viewers.

    Thoughts?

As bad as it may seem rodents are a natural part of Largemouth Bass' diet along with frogs and even turtles and crayfish.

I didn't like the fact that the rat drowned. But again I still is it as a part of keeping a particular kind of pet.

that rat was a tad bit too big and its been said many times about fish eating rodents and they have been used as bait pretty much forever

You do have a good point. I'm kind of on the fence about the situation. On one hand it seems cruel, but on the other hand it could happen in nature. And who am I to judge when I feed my pet the same exact rodents? I'm still not decided one way or the other. I can see some people getting very upset about it though.

It's a captive fish, they don't need a live rat. Yes, I don't agree with them feeding a live rat.

    Hi,

I thought it wasn't all that healthy to feed a large amount of mammals to a fish because of the fat on the prey?

I might be mis-remembering though as it's years since I had to pay that much attention to fish diets.

I don't mind the feeding, its neat to see all predators eat, but it is illegal to own any game fish.
