Re: My Ball Python and Tank Set-up
Yep its the heat lamps killing your humidity. Get an under tank heater and before sticking it to the bottom of the tank put some aluminum tape on it so you can re use it easier. Then put a few sheets of newspaper between the tank and heater so when it spikes up to 115 degrees it wont burn your snake.

Re: My Ball Python and Tank Set-up
We ended up using EcoEarth as a substrate and that solved my humidity problem.

Re: My Ball Python and Tank Set-up
aight, i got the humidity to like 40% right now....i changed out her smaller water dish for a larger one. Im going to try and find some moss today to put in there and sprits is to get it up a tad bit higher.
The heat lamps are there to keep the ambient temps up because my apartment is really cold all the time. We have no controll over the heat...its a condo and the complex controls the temps inside

do you really need 2 lamps tho? i understand you need it to keep the ambient up but i suggest keep the smaller one for ambient and ditch the big one in favor of a UTH...
%40 is TOO low.... and with all the trouble your going threw misting and soaking moss etc etc it would be much easier to buy a UTH and ditch a lamp than to do the wetting every day!!
