You guys do know that in the dvd Ball pythons in the wild. They did find one decent size ball python in a tree. The bad thing is that they only found one out of all the BPs.

Also, the BP will hide all day long...you'll end up with a nice enclosure to look at all day, but it'll be void of snake..lmao

    Re: Idea for Show Enclosure

This is probably getting a little off-topic, but I'm curious. I haven't seen Dr. Gorzula's video yet - does any of the footage or searching occur at night? I should mention that when I see Badoo climbing around his cage, it's always between 2 and 5 am. I believe they're most active at night, and I wonder if anyone else is regularly observing their BPs in those late evening and twilight hours.

my snake LOVES his tree branch, acts like a GTP somewhat as you can see, after he eats he loves basking like that... and yes i do watch my snake till 4 in the morning, hes all over the place, its crazy...

as for the shower idea... that would be an amazing setup for an aborial monitor thats also water dwelling... water monitor, if you had more room a croc monitor would love that but that setup sounds great for a mangrove monitor or nile monitor... they are aborial and can spend up to 24hrs at a time in the water... and very active and much more of a show piece IMHO

actually from the looks of your setup he likes the heat of the light after he eats more than the branch move the light and see if he does that.
they are nocternal just like most herps. either way that still wouldnt be a proper cage

I think this ideal would work with a water dragon.

if you actually look at the right side of this pic and look in his cage hes all over the branch, but not under the light, could be thermo regulating and he likes the temp that far from the light, but he does it quite often even if i move the light to the hide side of the tank

i know this post is about the bath tub enclouser - which is a pretty killer idea by the way but ... scareface, since BPs are nocturnal ur BP would be more happier if there was a red IR buld instead of the UV white light ...

as for the show enclouser i have a idea for converting or building from scratch a hard wood bookshelf thats 4' long n 2' wide and maybe 6' long. that way u can have storage from cleaning and feeding supplies and in the future convert other shelfs into a terrarium for my herps !
