Starting new "job" in the morning

Well times in this SD town are hard. A lot of places are laying off many people. I got the boot from my employer too. The good news is the state will help, if I (we the unemployed) do volinteer work for local organizations. I am totaly cool with that, but I would rather be working. Any way I'm doing my time (lol) at the local animal shelter. I start in the morning. I'm glad they didn't put me with any place else, to me any animal work is not work at all. Also next week I start a career training program, it starts with a 2 hour aptitude test to see what emplyment feilds fit you. I took the test before, and I already know what the top ten jobs are that would fit me best. Some of them would require me to go back to school. The people I am working with said that if the top jobs would have me going back to school, they would help me find the classes I need to take, and help with the loan papers.
Seeing as most of those top ten are in the pet care field, I'm all for it. If I do get back into school I think I will try to get into vetrinary medicine, and add to it I want to specialize in exotics, as around here it is a growing market with few people knowing anything about careing for animals like my bp, or most any herp.
I have to quote a country song for a moment "the clouds are dark, and the wind is high, but i can see the other side"

Wish me luck in the next few weeks. Maby I can help make a differance in this forsaken place.
    Jamie

Sorry that you're in transition, but it can be an exciting state to be in (uncertain as it may be).

Best of luck, sounds like there may be some great oppurtunities ahead.

Re: Starting new "job" in the morning

Well the woman who runs the shelter said I did well today. I go back again on Sunday.
I feel so bad for the animals there; some have been at that place for over a year. All of them are so nice, of these my heart hurts for my top 4: a great pyrenees, who is so gentile and just a doll on the leash; a little mix breed puppy, who is deaf, and blind in one eye; and one very loving cat, he followed me around and purred while I was in the cat room; a mix breed dog (yellow in color) who has been returned to the shelter 4 times and has a neurological problem.
They do not deserve what people have done to them.
