Radiant Heat Panel Question
I have a 20L tank for my BP. 3 sides are enclosed in 2" styrofoam isulation and the top has about 95% covered with foil and probably 25% of that is covered with the same insulation used on the sides.
Up until now I have been using a combo of a UTH on a thermostat with a 100W CHE above. It has allowed me to maintain steady temps along with a reasonable temp gradient and my BP seems to be doing well.
The 100W CHE required some work to get the temp right trying to regulate distance away from the screen and such.
Anyways, my daughter knocked the CHE lamp over the other day and it fell about 6" on its side. The CHE bulb is now loose in its base and Im not willing to risk fire hazard in using it.
Im trying to decide between a new CHE (thinking 60W) this time and a RHP.
Humidity is a PITA to maintain (though he had a perfect shed recently) and as I understand it, RHPs are much easier to maintain humidity with than CHEs.
Which RHP is the best deal going?
Thanks

Re: Radiant Heat Panel Question
Don't know about the best deal....
I will only and ever use RBI RHP's (http://www.reptilebasics.com/RBI-Rad...p-1-c-283.html) They work really well, are guaranteed for 10 years, and Rich gives amazing customer service

Re: Radiant Heat Panel Question
Pro-Products, no doubt about it, don't look back, don't hesitate, go for it.
35+ years with proper care (which consists of nothing, basically).
You can't burn the snake (my basking spot is about 94F and the temperature of the RHP is about 140-150; this will not burn the snake for the snake cannot lie upon it or be in contact with it for more than a few seconds)
PM me for more information.

Re: Radiant Heat Panel Question
I'd definitely recommend the RBI RHPs. They can't be beat quality wise and the smallest one they make fits perfectly on top of a 20 gallon tank. That was one of the best investments I made when I still had my ball in a tank .
